Default Oil pump

From everything I have researched on the oil pump i have seen no mention to a gasket in between the pump and the block. Is that right? I know there is an o ring to the pickup, but does it just fit hole to hole on the block?

it fits directly to the block's machined surface with no gasket. you are correct.

Yep, they are machined flat. Still kinda makes you wonder though huh??

well my heads and block are machine so ipso facto gm shouldnt need gaskets there either lol.
