Default Cam 4 me?

I have been looking at cams packages for my car and have no clue what to pick
Stock 2000 M6 Z28 My mods are SPL lid, Hooker long tubes, ORY dumped no cats, ported aluminum weiand ls6 intake. ported stock TP, W255 fuel pump with hot wire kit, Spec 3+ clutch, 4.10 gears, BMR LCA's, BMR adjustable panhard bar, SLP SFC and a 150 shot. I also have a HTP with wideband o2 and a good tunner.

My goal is get close to 500 N/A hp and into the mid 11's N/A. And still be able to spray 150 shot

do you drive on the street a lot. and 500 n/a would be max effort on a 346 stock bottom end. heads and max effort cam would get you close. lets go with the goal of mid 11s and not dyno numbers. Then i would think tsp torquer 3 cam or ms3 cam would get you there. and 10s with the spray with correct suspension. also thunder racing has some track proven cams.

nope not to me, my buddy has it and can daily drive it if he wanted. ppl run the trex cam and dd. but the ms3 would do great on the spray. and as long as you can put the power down you would hit your track goal. again my buddys car has long tubes and corsa exhaust, mti lid, and ms3 cam package dyno a 420 rwhp, forgot torque. had a 2.1 60 ft, but still ran a 12.6 at 116 mph so the powers there. he is on stock clutch and 10 bolt 3.42s

you arent going to make 500hp na without a lot of money and research, i would shoot for 425ish cam only (MAYBE) and run something like the ms3, ms4, trex, polluter, etc all similar cams

If you want 500whp on the stock motor, you should give a mikey @ Rapid Motorsports a shout. They have hit over 500whp on the stock motor quite a bit, but it's still no easy feat to be done. You will need a ported FAST92, get rid of those Hooker LTs for a set of ARHs or Kooks dumped, and more than likely a set of CNC'd TFS heads with a big cam. The MS3 is a good cam (hell I have it in my 408) and makes really good power. But if you see the #'s in my sig for my 408. It has a MS3 with PRC heads which is technically a mild head/cam for it and still barely cracked 500whp uncorrected with full bolt-ons (of course) other than an electric water pump. You can imagine what more you'll have to push out of the stock 346 to make the same #'s. And at that power level, you better be looking at a rear with 4.10s in the 10bolt and traction to shatter that thing. Not to say you can't do it, but it definitely isn't easy. Your going to need a really good tuner also.

Iv got the MS4, Made 424/371 on a Dyno Jet, 406/35? something idk.. But anyway, Iv got a FAST90/90 42lb injectors, Stock LS6 Heads, Patroit Gold Springs, 7.4 Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.7 Rockers..(some say u need them some say you dont..if you have the extra cash buy good rockers)

Youll want injectors if you go very big..you will be lean up top and youll burn it up..

Stock 6 speed
Moster Stage 3
10 bolt with 4:10s..but I dont count on it lasting if I put Drag Radials on it..

I daily drove my car for a few weeks after I got it put in..Has a bit of a surge at 1500-1650 rpms in at like 55 or 60 mph.. or if Im crusing in first at those RPMs..Not to bad on gas..Havent checked it but I didnt buy the turd for gas mileage..Its deff. all top end power..

I was hoping for high 11s with mine..havent had a change to run it..its FAWKIN RAINED FOR 3 WEEKS

How many miles are on your car? I reused my stock lifters

Our standard PRC dual valve spring kit will work with the MS4. With that said, our PRC EHT .675" lift dual spring kit is only $50 more, and it has double the spring life of the standard dual spring kit! It will not only give you a little more room for lift, but it will also go more miles before you have to worry with swapping them out.

The stock rockers are fine, but it would not hurt to do the trunion upgrade that we offer from Comp Cams. This will replace the center roller portion with HD components, and you'll still retain the lighter factory rocker bodies. The stock lifters will work just fine, unless they're super high mileage (i.e. 100,000+ miles). It's not that they won't work if they're over that mileage, but they're more prone to having a collapsed lifter. For a cam-only swap, you won't have access to the lifters. You'll have to pull the heads to swap them out, and you don't have to remove the heads for a cam-only swap.

Let us know if we can help out. We stock our most popular camshafts, as well as both dual valve spring kits. We offer a complete line of the additional parts to consider when doing a cam swap, such as a timing chain or set and a ported LS6 oil pump.

Man you need to get a solid roller cam setup and quite the mickey mouse hydraulic roller junk...Someone who knows about cams and LS1s can get you alot more power out of something like that.

And what ever you do if you run over .600" lift or have aggressive lobes BUY NEW ROCKERS!! (Or buy the trunion pieces from Trevor at TSP) Stock ones are junk, GM service bulletins posted will confirm they're turds.

Also your intake is worthless for power, beware of what you buy!...

Goodluck on your mission, best of luck!

xr265hr 54-424-11 from comp cams will almost get you to 400hp.forget the cam and get a used set of better flowing heads.
