Default Question about patriot ls6 style heads...

I heard the desired compression is obtained by welding metal into the combustion chamber...how is this done so that every combustion chamber is 100% exactly the same? if the compression varies .1 from one cylinder to another, this can cause knock or detonation...can someone explain this process to me? Im curious as to how this is accomplished so that it is 100% the same. Thanks in advance.

Why don't you just call Terry and let him explain it to you. He answers his own phone there and just loves to explain the marvels of modern machinery to people. I just got off the phone with him about 15 mins ago.

Camaro_Zach,
We bought the heads as a bare casting.I weld them, send them through a heat treat process, have all the surfaces, tapped holes, guides installed. The I perform the porting and cut the desired chamber size.I can assure you that every chamber is the same size.
