Oil passages in a cam..

Oil passages in a cam.. I was wondering if the small holes in the casting of a cam were oil passages. Right behind where the cam gear connects to the front there are a few holes around the base circle after where the first bearing would be. I assume this would oil the bearing and the cam gear and timming chain. Is this correct??
