What are you doing with the car? The MS3 is a good cam and makes good peak power. It would perform well at the strip with your setup. That being said, if you can let me know what you are wanting out of the car and what you are using it for, we might be able to get a cam that will be better suited for your particular application and make for a better all-round cam. We have everything you need for a cam install as well. Springs and pushrods are a must with a cam like this. I would also recommend a good timing chain and ported oil pump as well. It's nice to have a little more pressure and oil on the valvetrain with these larger cams. We have the gasket kits as well. We truly are a one stop shop! Let me know what you are thinking and we'll get you fixed up with a cam for your application!

i dont take this car to the strip, more of a weekend warrior but it gets driven during the week as well. i need a durable cam that puts down as much power as possible. i also want to hear the cam (ms3 has a good idle)

Might want to rethink going to a max effort cam and hating your car on the street. Lot's of results out there for 224 to 230-ish cams that make more power from 1500-5000 rpm without the compromises a large cam like MS3 and Polluter cams.
Research before you buy. Bigger is not always better.

226/228 .558 114
ls6 intake w/ ported stock TB
PTC 4000 2.4 STR
hand ported/milled 317s (flow around 285 I have been told)
3.73s
Underdrive pulley
FULL weight (3550 race weight)
dyno tune (375Rwhp)
Kooks LT's and ORY w/ cutout through magnaflow
There is a LOT more left in my setup. If I went to a FAST intake and a nice set of heads that would put me WELL over 400rwhp, probably around 420-420rwhp. The dyno I get tuned on also supposedly dynos 20Rwhp or so less than most. My Ms4 cam only car with a Ported 90/90 (stock heads) put down 385Rwhp.
It isn't in the cam selection as much as matching the rest of the combo. You can go VERY fast with a 226ish cam, and even a low 230ish cam.
To me it sounds like you do believe the "bigger is always better", that or you think the power you put down to the ground actually matters more than a thoughtful setup.
I have had a car already with a big cam (max effort) and a car with a "baby" 226 cam. I love the 226 SOOOOO much more. One thing to keep in mind is they don't call them max effort for nothing. The bigger the cam, the more money. IE. Awesome flowing intake, awesome flowing heads, very low gears, very big converter, etc etc etc.. Everything you buy you end up spending more money trying to feed the cam. Where as with a smaller cam you can run ls6 intake/any head 300 CFM or greater will do exceptionally well/373s/3500 converter. It is just way cheaper in the long run and the end results are MUCH closer than you think they would be. Maybe not on paper, but a well thought out setup means MUCH more than that.
Sorry for the book, just hate to see you decide something for the wrong reasons.

Here is a picture of me and a good buddy of mine.
My cutout is closed and is before my dyno tune.
His mods-
Ms4 cam
PRC Ls6 heads
FAST 90/90
full exhaust (cutout open)
dyno tune
Yank SS3600 2.5STR
373s
We race 3 times IIRC. This was the closest race, the one after this we went from a lower roll and i jumped out hard at the beginning. This race I believe was 40-120ish. Pulled around 2 on this one, the other one I puled around 2 1/2-3.

I was looking at doing the MS3 cam too but have decided not to go so big. Take a look at Texas Speeds 233/239 595/603 on your choice of 112, 113 or 114. I personally feel the 113 is the best choice for an A4 car. This cam should make great power and give you the sound you are looking for.
Texas Speed is great to deal with and Jon is great to work with. I just bought a ported Fast 92mm intake, PTM 92mm TB and some other stuff. Jon took the time to talk with me and answer question on the current and future plans for the car. I used to buy all my stuff from Thunder Racing. The last few times I tried getting in touch with them I had to leave messages on an answering machine and never received a call back. This happened when I was looking for my intake and TB. Called Texas Speed and got GREAT customer service. I am not throwing Thunder Racing under the bus. I am just stating a fact, Texas Speed offers superior customer service.
I will be calling Jon in the next week or two to get my new cam ordered. If you want to wait until mine is installed, I can give you information on how it feels. Car & mods in my sig.

I have the MS3, Love it... and hate it. haha Daily driving is somewhat comprimised but i love it. i have the 113 lobe seperation and the idle is just were i want it, i had it tuned to idle low and it sounds nasty. I would call up TEXAS speed for sure, they will have everything you need, .660 Prc double springs, pushrods, retainers, valve seals, locks and seats, and get a good oil pump from them while your in your motor!!!!
