Default New Numbers, Before and after Wide Oval manifold and TB, w/G5X-3

New numbers with G5X-3 package

Well I had to put a new stock shortblock in my personal car, so I installed a used trade in Z06 short block with our G5X-3 cam. I stuck a set of LS1 C5 LGM ported heads with 11.4 compression. I didn't have a set of LS6 heads. I used them all on customers cars.

We installed a set of our LG Pro Long Tube headers ( you know, the ones that cant make big power) and a Borla stinger.
The car has a Black wing and our carbon fiber air bridge. The rear tires are 335/30x18 with 35 lbs pressure. Full belts are on the car with an underdrive pulley and 342 gears.

478.4 rwhp and 440.8 rwtq

The car has stock rockers, and on the before numbers it had a stock intake and stock throttle body. It pulled a very satisfying 458rwhp 422.8 rwtq before the big oval intake. Then after the new manifold install it pulled 478 rwhp 440.8 rwtq.

Have you ever seen this kind of torque on a stock bottom end car???

We have a Mezeire pump coming which should yield another 10 and with the belts off there should be another 5rwhp. Sounds like JC Whitney hp addition but that would make 493rwhp then we can add the LS6 heads

So, I would say that LG PRO Long Tube 1 3/4" headers can make the big hp numbers as well as the BIG torque numbers.

Thanks

Lou, all I can says is strap it down at Thunder.

Had to say that before someone else did...just a little

Actually that the most incrediable stock short block dyno graph I've seen. With the LS6 heads and other stuff...this might be the first 500rwhp stock short block LS6!

Gator,

If being above 400rwtq from 4000 to 6200 is peaky, I will take it.

No, these are LGM heads.

Lou, I scaled the image down and re-hosted it so its easier to read the post.

So tell us more about this wide oval thing...I guess I missed the post about it. 478rwhp is amazing!

that is the TPIS oval intake and tb. It is 88mm wide and 76mm top to bottom. I think the Fast 90mm intake will be better. And even the 78mm round TB fast intake will be almost as good.
We knew that our packages were hurting for air but this was a surprise. The manifold and TB without cores was just over $2000. And with that price, I am looking forward tot he Fast intakes to be released. I have plenty of them on order just like all the vendors.

JEEBUS CRONK! I will be happy with those horsepower numbers from the blasted 427 I am building! You guys never cease to amaze.

Ah and all those who will post up saying "take it to the track, get some real numbers" can rest assured he will be able to pass many peoples asses at 160+ mph on the back stretch of Texas World Speedway just fine.

actually with it resized, it doesnt look as peaky. very impressive now that i can see the whole graph on my screen now. damn too much money for that intake but it takes cash to make ultimate power. i guess this puts the reverse splits to the grave

Man these G5X? cams just keep getting better and better, great numbers. What heads would work the best with this cam? I am interested in either AS 5.3's or PP LS6 Style heads.

Lou, I noticed something in your graph. Do you have a cam only dyno of the g5x3 or couple heads cam dynos of one, starting the pull at 2500. If you do could you post them uphere or email them to me?
