Please Help! Sorry but I am a bit confused here. I built a ghetto press to push out the inserts on my rod caps and am installing the rings now but I have hit a snag. The instructions are telling me to line up the gap on the oil ring and its retainers with the wrist pin. I was always taught never to do this with any of the rings and never have the gaps of the other rings line up either and be a little off perpendicular with the wrist pin. The rings are federal mogul sealed power btw. Does this seem right to you?
