im planning on building a 408 will unported 243s choke it or make good power. and im planning on spraying up to a 200

I would say the heads are going to be a bit of a restriction. They will work, but not optimally. Borrowing a word out of Tony Mamo's vocabulary.

You are definately leaving power on the table, but you are also keeping a few grand in your pocket until you are ready for an upgrade.

Yea l92 heads would be a lot better even unported but i would defintly get ported ones they are not to much money and were ever you get them from can most likey get a l76 intake to. But if it was me i wouldnt put the money to get a 408 and put stock 243 heads on it and l92 are a great option if you didnt want to go with high doller aftermarket heads.

do it once and do it right. If you dont have the coin to pony up to a good set of heads, either leave it sit till you do, or put what you have now on it till you get the money. Good power can be made from the l92s, but you will always wonder what a set of afrs, or tfs heads would have done.

There is a guy on hear i cant remeber his name but he has a 441 with l92 heads and l76 intake that runs mid 9s on motor!

ok. now i was told i needed a different valley cover when using the l92head /ls3 intake swap? is this true?
