Default Re-doing Crankshaft and bearings

I'm replacing my crankshaft and bearings. What bolts are re-useable and not reuseable?

both crank and rod bolts are reusable. head bolts arent. im reasonably sure the only bolts not reusable are the crank bolt and the head bolts. however, its always a good idea to do rod bolts, just make sure you get the rods resized if using ARP bolts or use the Katech bolts.

The main cap side bolts may not be reuseable, but I'm not certain...

Agreed. If your going to spray or boost it the stock rod bolts are a weak point....go with the budget ARP's and you don't need to resize the rods.

Head bolts can be reused if torqued and not following the torque-to-yield steps, but it's a gamble.

im not going to turn this into another debate, but when using the ARP rod bolts, you need to have the rods honed. as per ARP's website. that being said, the head bolts CANNOT be reused as they stretch and cannot hold the load they are intended to.

Why does the rods need to be honed?

because the ARP bolts, or any aftermarket bolts change the clamp load on the rod cap and it will not be perfectly round. after i put rod bolts in my car, i ran it for 1000 miles without sizing the rods, and the rods were .003 out of round. by the time i got the O-o-R out of them, they were junk becaues they dont make a bearing .005 oversized O/D and a standard I/D
