Default Daily driver A4 cam?

Ok guys im in the market for a camshaft. Im have a 01 ws6 its an A4. Im wondering whats the biggest, bestest cam i can use on my daily driver. I have LTs, catback, and intake. I will be adding a 3200 stall with the cam as well. Any opinions or suggestions? THANKS!

I would say TSP 224 or a TR224
both with tuning of course.
Now some will say bigger but you did say Daily driver and A4, so I stand by my answer.

i'm sure you could do more than a 224, it's all in the tuning from what i understand.

Cool

Pete's recommendation is a great one. The first camshaft we swapped into Trevor's '02 SS A4 was the 224R on a 112 LSA, and it was pretty docile! Tuning does play a HUGE role in how well the car will drive around. We ran the 231/237 in Trevor's SS, too, and he drove the car every day (weather providing ). The tuning will make or break a setup. It really comes down to where you're wanting your powerband to be and how much lope you're looking for. The 224R will have enough of a lope to hear it at idle, but it can still be pretty stealthy through a quiet cat-back like the SLP dual/dual. I can say that the 224R will work very well with the 3200 stall torque converter that you're looking to install! Larger camshafts like the 228R or 231/237 will work with that converter, too, but the 224R will work best since it will not peak as high and will provide you with more mid-range power.

Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Matt

I've got a daily driven A4 w/the MTI X1....no problems whatsoever...(Cain) hit it on the head, tuning and opening up the TB hole will keep the car from dying at the most in opportune times...

These guys are right. Its all about how good of tune you have. I'm running a 230/238 on a 114 LSA with no problems. I could drive it in city traffic all day. RMS did an excellant job of tuning, I can't brag enough. My converter is slightly bigger but you should be alright. A bigger converter would compliment that bigger cam better though.

With a stock tune,my cam. With a good tune you could run 224-240 if its done right.
