Default Help with heads?

2000 SS M6.
kooks lt, ory, borla cat back, ls6 intake, ported tb, stock maf, slp lid, g5x3 cam, comp 921 springs on stock 853 heads. I bought the car with the cam in it and a mail order tune. Runs pretty good, it went a 12.88 in the quarter mile with 3:42 gears and spinning alot at the line. (I plan on putting a S60 or 12 bolt in with 4:10's.) I would like to put a set of heads and maybe a few smaller mods on the car this winter yet and get it tuned in the spring. I was leaning toward a set of stock 243 or 799 heads? Is this a good idea or would a set of ported heads pick up alot more? Trying to get the best bang for my buck. Thanks in advance.

We have several different cylinder head specials going on right now if your looking to stay in a budget.

You can give Matt in our cylinder head department a shout at 713-504-8746 if you have further questions.

Do 243s and have AI do the work. You should be able to switch everything over. I did from my 241s. I have had great success with them. also a Vararam vr-b2 if your going NA is going to be a good compliment. I would do a ZO6 MAF '04 great budget buy for a MAF. My buddy is actually doing a 9" and 317s his is Turbo. Also think of doing the LS6 valves they will help lighten up ur valve train. rockauto.com has them at a great price. Over all it looks like a great set up. Also some sticky tires and you should be set.

I was kind of looking at the Prc's stage ones from texas speed but i am afraid that i am going to leave too much on the table? The ZO6 MAF '04 sounds like a good budget mod, but am i better off taking that money and putting it toward a speed density tune? i dont know? daily driver but it will see the track.

I think if you can pick up a set of 243s off a GTO forum or on ebay then you can invest a little more into your heads, with out having to pay the extra for the price hike on the heads through the supplier.

Is your car speed density already? if so then stick with it way easier and cheaper than to have to redo your whole intake system. Either tune if done correctly will do its job.

good luck
