Default Im stranded help

I ran my car out of gas And pushed it to thE nearest gas station and put the only eight dollars I HAD IN THE TANK. WENT TO START IT AND IT TURNS OVER JUST FINE BUT WONT START. SPARYED STARTER FLUID IN THE INTAKE AND IT FIRED RITE UP BUT ONY FOR A SECOND. dO I NEED A NEW PUMP OR COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE.....iM STRANDED PLEASE HELP. 14178259921

you probably burned up the pump, but see if you can get more gas in there. also turn the key on and of 4-5 times to prime the pump incase you ran the fuel lines dry. good luck

Exactly what I told him in a text I sent him. When my car ran out of gas it burned the pump out, but once I put gas in it, it did start and run. Just would not go WOT

The fuel keeps the pump cool. That's why it's not a good ide to run at less than 1/4 tank. Sometimes you can pound on the tank with your fist as a friend cranks the engine to get the pump going. This might get you home or to a repair shop.

check the shcrader valve on the fuel rail and see if you have pressure...it might be messy but you'll be able to tell if the fuel is getting to the rails...
