Default 224 cam

Power estimate?

SLP lid, filter, and bellows
TSP LTs and true duals
243s and TSP cam

What are the differences between the 224xe and 224r. The R looks larger in lift identical duration but it has a lower powerband as listed by TSP.

Back in the day I dyno tested both camshafts next to each other. The 224R camshaft would without a doubt be my first pick between the two camshafts. You could also consider the 228R camshaft, it makes power very similar to the 224R camshaft, but makes about 5hp peak more. They both can be tuned very easily & can run a single spring if your looking to save $$$!

We can even put together a nice mail order tune for you so all you have to do is install & fire up!!

Definately go with the R... if anything I'd agree with Jason. You definately might wanna think bumping it up to the 228R... I would have liked to have gone that route... But i'm happy with my 224R it makes good power...

those mods I'd guess about 50-60rwhp over stock...

In a M6 car, 224 probably like 380's and probably 390's with the 228. Im not sure what all is involved with "stage 1" on those heads. With stock ls1 heads probably 370-375 with the 224 and 380-385 with the 228. Each car is different, hope this helps.

I'm going to head back to the dyno soon. I ported up a 78mm fast intake and now its an 85mm ported fast. I will also be installing an underdrive pulley, this build was far from something I just slapped together. I'm hoping for 430rwhp and 400 rwtq. Keep in mind the LS7 clutches are proven power robbers (5-10 rwhp). There was a lot of time and detail involved but I did it all on a cheap budget, I have over 20 hours into the valve job alone.

I was wondering the exact same thing. but on 114lsa (I live in calif) sucks cause of smog. I wonder if I could pass with 228/114 but doubt it. less someone here actully passed with that set up & can confirm this for me

Possible if you have a tuner who can lean you out a bit. My cam is on a 114 and it passes with the MAX allowable levels for ppm. I've heard of bigger cams passing though, with a good tune to lean it out.

The reason I was looking at the 224xe is that I thought I could use stock LS6 springs and save some cash. I have seen nothing but one thread on this camshaft being used and the link to the dyno numbers isn't working and the power number was never mentioned.

EDIT: What should I expect from hp-wise from Stage 1 LS6 and 228R combo with TSP headers/true duals? Injectors/clutch needed?
