Default Anyone Tryed the Grand-Am Cup Cam????

If so what kind of power are you making with it, and can you use the stock short block, or do the pistons have to be cut. I am considering this cam so any info on it will be appreciated. Also what is the best head for this cam? Thanks

Yes, you do have to flycut your pistons if you put this in your stock shortblock. I believe some folks have gotten between 450-475 rwhp with ported heads. I think that this cam is a compromise though. The lift is relatively low.. .570" this was specifically designed for the class regulations, and so was the gm ported ls6 head. It peaks out right in this lift range. The cams on the market now, in the .580 to .615 lift range, with lower duration, and wider lsa's are producing similar power, with much better drivability..
