Default 5.3L Horsepower

Hey guys,

Before you flame, yes I have searched.

I'm just wondering simply what kind of potential can be had out of a 5.3 engine. I'm looking at possibly picking a 5.3 swapped 4th gen with a built th350, stall, etc in it and wondering what it could do.

The engine is stock now, but I would probably do a cam and 150 shot to start with.

What kind of power can be had with cam only, heads cam, and heads cam intake on these guys.

Also thinking about swapping rod bolts before it gets dropped into the car so I can turn some decent rpms and go a little bigger on the cam.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Greg

Greg,
Heads and cam 5.3s aspirated thru an auto with a good custom cam to match your selection of heads and intake, with a good tune should make between 400 to 450 to the wheels.
I have personally build 2 5.3litre head and cam packages on silverados thru the auto.330HP on one and 365HP with a big cam on another. Both with Stock truck intakes.
Great power plants you can spin them high
