Default opinions on Trick Flow head gaskets

Last time I swapped heads on my LS1, I used GM MLS .051" head gaskets. They worked great. This time around I'm wanting a little thinner for a slight bump in CR. I've heard good and bad things about Cometic. Starting to hear about several Cometic failures. Sounds like they require additional prep to seal properly. Regardless, think I'll pass on them. Anyone running Trick Flow MLS .045" head gaskets? I'm tempted to give them a try.

Found this in another thread. Guess there aren't many running Trick Flow head gaskets yet.

Nothing wrong with Cometic gaskets. Just make sure heads and block are smooth (low surface finish number (RA). I'd use a little copper spray with them also.

For peace of mind, I've decided to mill the heads a little and just use the trusted GM gaskets instead.

That works, but the quench doesn't improve that way. I'm sure it's won't be a big issue, but something to think about when going all out.
