Default I want to shim my oil pump spring. How do I do this?

I am putting together a 6.0 with L92's. The motor is on the stand and ready. What are the steps to doing this? Im pretty sure i have to take the oil pump off. I was thinking .100" shim. Thanks fellas.

It's super easy. Just find a nut small enough to fit in the Allen head cap that screws into the pump where the spring goes. That'll shim it just right. If nothing else take the cap with you to a harware store and find one that fits. I try to get it as close to the brim as I can find. It works great.

So i use a nut? I thought you were supposed to use a washer? So it goes right under the allen head screw?

Nuts or washers. It still does the same thing but you can usually find a single nut thick enough to work. Yup just right under the Allen head screw. The Allen head screw has an indention in it for the spring to set in. Just fill it up almost to the top and your good to go.

Also there's no need to take the pump off. Just unscrew the cap and let the spring slide out. A little oil may drain out but not much. Then put the spacer in the cap, slide the spring back in, put a lil blue lock tight on the threads and reinsert the Allen head screw.

Just to clear things up...so the spring goes back in first, then the shim, then the allen head screw?

Correct. The Shim fits inside the Allen head screw. You'll see what I mean once you take it off. Put the spring in first then the shim in the screw, then the screw.
