I have a 2000 SS Camaro and i am wanting to cam my car. I am looking for a mild lobe and great performance. right now i have pacesetter long tubes, slp intake box, and a magnaflow cat back. To do this mod what else should i get and what cam would perform best with my setup?

also you should get an ls6 intake for your cam as well. I just ordered my mid range cam and went with thte 228r from tsp. I was also looking at their torquer series.

228r would be a good cam for an all around car.

since you really don't give much info on your goals, its tough to suggest.

def go over to a place like Thunder Racing and check out their cam and install kits. you'll get most of what you need.

things beyond whats in the kit are optional but there are some good items that should be purchased

Something in the 224 - 228 range with supporting components and a good tune would be my choice.

I posted this in another thread, but should help here too. The Thunder Racing cams are really easy on the valve train. I had a TR224 and loved it. Maybe check into the TR224/227 cam if you have unported heads. The Texas Speed 224R and 228R cams are good too.

Spring and pushrod kit:
http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=172&catid=54

Basic head and cam gasket and bolt kit:
http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...id=87&catid=36

If you have high miles, then also get at least a LS2 chain upgrade and oil pump (will also need an oil pickup o-ring if replacing the chain and/or oil pump):

http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=815&catid=36

When doing a cam change, that is the perfect time add an UD pulley (will also need new belts). This is the one I'm running:

Don't forget antifreeze and then change oil and filter afterwards.

Take a look at my sig and also browse throught TA Pics below. There's a dyno graph in there somewhere. The combo puts down around 385 rwhp. That's with a power robbing 12 bolt and 4.11's. This is a decent car with excellent manners. It's not the other monsters you see on this forum, but it's still produces tire smoking fun.

Get up with Patrick G and have him spec you a cam on the new EPS lobes. They are softer (read easier on valvetrain) but are making great #'s That is prolly what I will run in my next motor....

When ever i look at "What cam should i get?" threads, i never see the Mti X1 mentioned. I did research on it, and with LT headers, stock heads, intake, tb, regaular bolt ons, and a UD pulley, they get around 415hp? And also i see its pretty torquey? Idk i am still looking for a good street cam also that supplies an abundance of torque since i dont plan on takin it to the track very much at all..

Suggesting a cam based on the information you have provided is really nothing more than a popularity contest. We don't know much about your application, and only 12 posts in found that your car has a manual trans (presumably with the stock 3.42 gears).

Is this a daily driver or a weekend toy?
Do you take it to the track all the time or just go for a cruise?
Smooth idle, some chop or a nasty cam sound?
Are you wanting a cam to make more power all around, or are you more concerned with making more top end hp?

Depending on the valve events, a cam in the 224-228 range can do all of the above. Knowing exactly what you want from it will help someone to give you a better recommendation.

You could give our Stinger Cam a try. It has been our most popular by far. 224/232 113. This cam dynoes well and runs hard at the track.

You dont see a reverse split being a very common cam in N/A applications anymore. Especially when the majority of users on this site are in a constant dick measuring contest and sweating the arrival of the MS5.
