Default So I'm doing cam/heads, what supporting mods?

So I'm picking up a pair of stock 243 heads and I already have an MTI X1 (230/227 .591"/.571 on a 112) cam, first time tearing into the motor. What supporting bolt on's should I get. Springs pushrods etc..?

Count on springs/PR's and most do oil pump and upgrade to an LS2 timing chain also since you are already there. If you are ever gonna do a UD pulley now is the time since it will come off anyway...

Edit: Since you are doing heads might wanna consider lifters and definitely throw down $30 for LS2 lifter trays.

ARP head bolts since you are swaping the heads out IMO.

Spring and pushrod kit:

Basic head and cam gasket and bolt kit:

If you have high miles, then also get at least a LS2 chain upgrade and oil pump (will also need an oil pickup o-ring if replacing the chain and/or oil pump):

Like was said, this is the perfect time to go with an UD pulley (will also need new belts). This is the one I'm running:

Don't forget antifreeze and then change oil and filter afterwards.

Not sure what size injectors you have, but you might want to consider upgrading, particularly with a medium-sized cam and the addition of heads.

Should pick up a little power with the fast 90/90 I'd think, but the X1 is a reverse split cam so it likes the restriction on the intake and loves the free flowing exhaust so I'm gonna stick with the ls6 intake for now.

just make sure the springs are rated for atleat .600 lift, arp bolts are a good investment if you ever plan on pulling the heads off again soon or are planning on spraying it. the ported ls6 oil pump is a good investment and atleat a ls2 timing chain if not a double roller. if you do go double roller stick with the ported ls6 pump due to clearens issues from what ive been told.
