Arrow El Torro Setup?

I've been looking at this cam for a while now, and i just cant seem to get enough information on it. I know chris is running it and he is making freaking insane numbers. But i was wondering about drivability and what kind power i would be looking at with full bolt ons, 4000 stall, ported 243 heads, fast 92 setup, and also maybe a 150 shot. From what ive heard, this cam make great power. so i was wondering if you guys can give me some opinions.

Anything will help, Thanks

Cody

I run a variation of it. 230/234 612/598 111+2 xfi/x-er lobes. I have 4* more exhaust duration because I run cats. It is a little cranky on cold start but other than that it has GREAT manners. I think the cold start is just a tuning issue but my tuner is 90 miles away so I just deal with it It has good lowend, peaks about 6200 and carries to my 6500 shift point.

Hard to read the graph but it made 417/383 with a nice flat torque curve.

I would decide before you order the cam if you are gonna spray or not. If you are I would run a split like mine and go with a wider LSA. Both of these changes will help you get a little more from your n2o. Let me know if you want the lobe #'s from Comp.....

I can tell you this. Its a great cam.It made 420 hp with all bolt ons,and makes great tq.He went 1.35 60 ft with it last fall with a ss4000.The driveability is really good as compared to my ms3,and we have both had good tuning to our cars.It pulls just as hard as mine with greater tq,like 390=395.You will not be disapointed.Im his dad.

I have been running PRC golds with LS7 lifters for 30k. Springs were still in spec at 15k but it's time to check again.

chrs1313 has an awesome car. He has a great ramair setup on his car that he is making and selling now and has some weight reduction too but I am not sure how much. The only reason I point this out because you prolly won't see his times by just sticking a cam in. He degreed his cam when it went in too so his valve events are where they should be...

A 150 shot on that cam should have you SOLIDLY in the 10's....

And like I said run a wider LSA and and more duration on the exhaust side and you should see a little more out of it........

nope, i ran an ms4 car from a roll though. he thought it pulled pretty good. thats the only comparison i have. wasnt much of a race since he was on street tires. hopefully when it warms up i can get it tuned and to the track.

I am running this cam too thru an M6 and really impressed with it.
Car is in the process of getting retuned right now as the 1st tune had some hiccups in it, I think thru an stalled A4 with 3.73s it will pull really hard down low for sure, defintly a torque cam that peaks low. You have a good exhaust in place, sounds like you have all the right pieces planned to really make some good power, spray or no spray. I would PM Pred Z if I were you to see what kind of cam specs you would need to spray it.
Here is a thread on before and after results of my H/C swap.

thanks for the props...I agree with sombitch...if hitting it with the jug widen the lsa some and have more of a split on the duration to see more gains on the bottle...otherwise the el torro likes the bottle too there is another member on here that sprayed it on his car but I can't remember his screen name...good luck on the build

yeah cam is SICK. ive seen 2 cars with with cam and they both haul *** (one more than the other). i plan on switching to this soon but id like to get a different converter first. going with ss4000 instead of the 3600.

would a 150 really matter though on this cam? i would think that it wouldnt effect the cam until you get closer to 200 but i could be wrong. maybe predator or pat g could help us out

Sweet, i knew this cam was pretty sick, but i wasnt sure. yeah, i will be running a 4000 converter, and Also thanks chris for shining some light on the convo. Well, im pretty sure 150 should be enough spray to make a diffrence.
But also im looking to make around 450 hp without the spray, and from what i've seen from this cam, im sure i can hit it!

yes that is true the smaller shot wont be as much a factor...i mean **** people are spraying 150 shots on stock cams and getting 10mph+...

i would keep the ss3600 if you plan on hitting it with spray you will like it alot better and it wont push through the converter as much...maybe even ss3800 if you want a middle of the road...

check out camscam on here he has a cam only ls1 on a 150 shot running 9.8s ms3, and a FTI nitrous converter IIRC

sorry for the hyjack

I just clicked on this thread by random, but he is talking about my car. we have been 9.78 140 at 3400 lbs with a cam and shot. put the car together right and they will fly.

good luck.

Replied to your thread....I bet your TH400's gearing is a lot better than a 4L60E, any idea how much quicker it might make your car go?

Also, is that 3400 with you in it or just the car?
