Torquer V.2 too small for a 408?
I am building a budget 408 shortblock and was going to take all the stuff off my ls1, patriot 243's, Torquer 2, ls6 intake, about 11:1 compression. Is that cam too small for my application? Is anyone running anything similar? I have a Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"sTRoker" - 248/254 - .615/.623 - 112 lsa that i could put in there but i want some street manners about it. Also what size injectors do I need. It will be sprayed up to 150 a lot. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

there is a lot of duration on that "stroker" cam. i would do the v3 or something similar if you are worried about the street manners. i would say 42lb injectors with a fuel pump upgrade if not running a dedicated fuel system for the nitrous. if you are, 36lbs.

i definetly want the low end aspect and my tuner is no doubt the best around this area. I am looking for about 450rwhp with this setup. Is that possible with the torquer cam or should i just throw in the stroker cam. It is used and came in my car with the ls1 and i had to change it so i don't know how old it is or anything like that. That is kinda why i am hesitant. Thanks for the input.

Atleast it had some sort of relief. I was thinking that you were looking at a new shortblock cause you got tired of floating and bending valves. hahahaha
Seems crazy to do that though. Wasnt a solid roller at one point was it? I know that sTRoker cam is a hydraulic cam, but...wow.

I'd agree that somewhere bwteen the two cams listed would suit you better!

With the 248/254 cam will be eatin up by the cubes of the bigger motor unlike having it in the smaller cube engine that makes it radical and a pain to drive around town if it were my car id go with the 248/254 try it what do u have to loose its paid for if u don't like it its not that hard to buy and change a cam.

If you have a good exhaust and the supporting bolt on mods, the Torquer 2 cam will get you to the 450rwhp mark, if that's all you really care about in terms of power. I'm not a big cam guy, but if it were me and you already have the "stroker" cam, a good dyno tune will still be streetable. You have enough compression, and the 112LSA will be very "tuneable".
Patrick G ran a cam with 239/241 duration on 112LSA and XER lobes on a 347 with great street manners...

It's all about the goals. I think the V2 would be pretty docile in a 408 and make nice power. I'd be very interested to see what kind of numbers it would make. I have a PatG cam in mine (235/243, .621/.623) which is not all that big for a 408. With bone stock 243 heads, an LS6 intake, and ported stock TB, I was able to make 448 rwhp. Mine drives great. Lots of power down low. I saw 400 rwtq from 3K on up. Great street car.
On the same dyno, a friend with a WS6 with stock bottom end, stock 243s and the V2 cam made 430 rwhp.
