Sorry if this is a dumb question. The car has been running real rich and the plugs are pretty loaded up so i was gonna change them and just want to run the "right" plug

If you are not spraying then the TR55 are a good plug!!! You will get different opinions on where to gap them, But somewhere between .40 and .50 should be fine... If you are running rich, you might want to have it tuned.. Well worth the money.

Headers, cam, and heads car? Yeah, it's time to move up to TR6 plugs. When I ran them, I gapped at .045" and that worked like a charm.

Thanks guys, so whats the differance between the two plugs? One just hotter spark, platinum? Yeah i need to have it tuned, i brought car here from florida so its running pretty rich. Plans in near future are to throw some boost at it so i don't wanna tune it just to pay hundreds more to tune again. Thanks again

TR5IX .040, you don't need to go to the TR6

The TR6 are copper and are one heat range colder. As you get higher compression and bigger cams and make more power, you want to go with colder plugs, not hotter. Especially if you spray nitrous.

Hey i was wondering if running a step hotter plug would help lean me out a little. I work at a motorcycle shop and we do that all the time to help with altitude change, or if the machine is running a little bit on the rich side. Will the same thing work on cars?
