Default Need a New cam, have milled heads

I have a set of ported Heads 2.02/1.57 and they are 241 casting milled 30 thousandths, I was wondering how big of a duration can I go without flycutting?

My heads are milled .030 and I have 2.055/1.60 valves. My cam specs are 228/236 112. It's installed 4 deg advanced. I didn't feel comfortable going any larger without checking P to V.

Timing events will have a direct effect on the amount of duration you can "get away with"...

A 228* @ .050" lobe will clear at a 112* lobe separation, 110* intake centerline but take the same lobe and use a 108* separation and a 106* intake centerline and you will have issues...

It's best to have the cam designed around your combination. That'll make sure that the events make power as well as provide enough P/V with your heads...

What formulas do you use to determine this?

Thanks

so a 228@.50 w/ a 114 and a 110 Centerline would clear fine?

What about exhaust duration?

Also what lift?
