Default problems with my comp cam

ok so i ordered a custom grind cam from texas speed.....i get it here install it and the motor wont turn over so i think well maybe the valves are hitting the pistons or something so i pull the timing gear off and the cam spins freely....i then install the gear and chain once again only to find it doing the same thing...so i take the chain back off and the cam will not turn with the gear on it....so i pull it back out and get to thinking....so i measure the distance from the journal to the end of the cam.....i then measure the distance on the stock cam only to find out that the custom specd cam is .02 shorter than the stocker....so when i put the gear on there it is pulling the cam and gear up against the retainer plate and is not letting it spin....any one else have this problem....i was thinking of taking the cam gear to the machine shop and having them take off .02 but i wasnt for sure if that would throw off the alignment of the chain or maybe trying to find some shims...anyone have any suggestions?

Have seen this before, send the cam back as it is incorrectly machined. Don't try to compensate by machining other mating parts. You paid good money for the cam, make sure it is correct.
