Default What's chocking my motor?

I had my car dyno'd after I installed my ported F.A.S.T. 92/92 combo and the car's power falls flat on it's face at 6k RPM.

My set up includes:

Comp Cam 224/224 .581 .581 @114, Patriot Stg. II 59cc heads, KOOKS 1 7/8 long tubes, F.A.S.T. intake/TB, Ebay U.D. Pulley, and a tune.

The car's #'s are in my sig.

We need more info. Is it a 6spd or auto. Do you have a dyno graph? What did it put down before the intake swap? give us any info that might be useful in determining the power loss.

If your car is an auto I'd say that's about right but assuming your a six speed cause you don't have a converter listed I'd say maybe your cam is holding it back but that's just a guess.

Dyno graph would deficiently help.

Nothing in your setup indicates HP would fall flat at 6k. With a 59cc head, and a 224 cam..thats a lot of DCR, but that should not be the issue.

Stock rockers? Sometimes there is an issue with aftermarket rockers (not all, and not always). Cam degreed in, etc..

More info would help, but that combo should easily pull to to 6400-6600+ rpms. I'll guess valve-train related at this point..

When I look at it like that (dyno) it does not seem too bad. The blue line has a little dip ~6270 RPMs..I can't tell if that is 'real' or not. It holds your HP power pretty good.

Maybe some of the 224 cam people can comment. The overall curve looks similar to mine..Both of our cam's IVC is ~42 degrees.

You have headers. Cutout? Hard to say. Might depend on tune. With your intake and CR, would have probably expected higher numbers..
