Default Stock 98 LS1 heads

I had to pull the heads off my car because I manually over revved it and bent some valves. Do I have to buy new head bolts ? I am guessing I have to but which bolts do I need since the bolts covered by the intake are different then the center bolts in the heads and head bolts near the headers ? Also does anyone know what they get torqued to and the sequence you torque them in ? Thanks for any help.

Yes there are 3 diff. head bolt sizes. Just buy a set from like summit, should be around $40. Do not re-use the head bolts as they are torqued to yield (means they are no good now that you took them out). Don't re-use the gaskets either lol. Then go to auto zone and Haynes manual, it has the torque specs & sequence as well as a bunch of other day to day ls1 howtos.

ARP makes re-usable head studs, but they are not cheap. Normally $300+. But if you want a very reliable stud and plan on pulling the heads at a later date they are the way to go.
