Default Correct pushrod lenght for Comp 216/220 114LSA

I'm going to tear the engine down for new bearings and ARP rod bolts etc and I would also like to have hardened pushrods. I tried to find out how much smaller base circle does Comp Cams 216/220 114 LSA cam have but found nothing. I will be using stock rockers with Comp Trunion upgrade, Comp "R" hydraulic roller lifters, Fel-Pro head gaskets (gasket set #CS9284), and heads are Patriot Performance Stage II CNC ported LS1's. Is 7.400" good to go or do I need longer on shorter ones? I'm familiar with the lenght checking procedure, but it takes 2 weeks or so to get pushrods from USA after I order them, so it would be great if can order correct lenght pushrods at the same time with everything else.

Thanks!
J-P

The Comp R's, per Comp, require adjustable rockers and require a preload that is a very tight tolerance. From memory, the preload requirements are 0.002" - 0.004".

You just saved me from spending huge amount of money to rockers! My parts were not shipped yet and I was able to change Comp R's to Comp OE replacement rollers

Garygnu: You're right, I will get the pushrod lenght checker. I have the camquest6.. Head surfaces are just smoothed to make sure they are straight. The fastest shipping method would be ups, about a week and I think I can wait that long.

how are you going to tune the car when you get it together?

I think I'm going to send my PCM to madtuner to get safe starting point. Then get complete dyno-tune later. I don't dare to even start the engine with stock PCM program.

I used the same cam on my '02 WS6 A4. I also had my stock 241's pocket ported and
only milled .10 off. I just used the stock LS1 rockers and lifters since the cam has very
mild lobes and you won't need to rev the motor past 6,300 rpm. I then moved on to 7.400 inch hardened pushrods. Just keep it simple and you'll be fine. BTW, i ran 11.77 @ 116.08 mph NA and 10.93 @ 127.71 mph on a 125HP Wet shot of nitrous. I hope i was helpfull.

That helped, thanks! I'm suprised that a 216/220 cam and bolt ons can get you into mid-high 11's! I think I will order 7.400" pushrods and lenght checker. If they are too long or short I will just sell them and get right ones.

I am all for keeping it simple, but you have changed to many things IMO. I would do the adjustable pushrod and find the correct pre load length.
