Need help selecting Push rod to use with Morel Lifters
Using a comp push rod length checker set at 7.300" i am very very close to zero lash when torqued to 22 ft lbs. If i expand the length checker to 7.350" and begin tightening my rocker i got my zero lash before the rocker became torqued, and from the zero lash went just over a full turn to reach 22 ft lbs torque on my rocker. In a previous post everyone seemed to recommend anywhere from .010"-.050" preload on morel lifters. So from my measurements would a 7.325" or 7.350" push rod be better for my setup? I currently have comp 7.400" push rods from my old setup but am thinking they will be too much preload. Any one that can help me out i appreciate it. Thanks!

You shouldn't go to full torque on the adjustable. Back it off to 7.275 so it is loose then install the rocker and just snug it and then lift the rocker tip to see if it will "tick" "tick". If it does, then increase length 1/4 turn and try again. Based on what you have so far it is looking like 7.350".

Manton will make your pushrod to any length. I would see if an 11/32 pushrod will clear as it will be much stronger than any 5/16. Morels like .030 - .050 preload as stated above. That comp tool can be narrowed down to much smaller increments than fifty thous. 1/4 turn on it is about 12 thousandths I have even gone with 1/8 turn (6). Trend pushrods is another good option but they limit you to twenty five thousandth increments in length.
