Default LS6 longblock question

I purchased a LS6 longblock. The engine in my car is a LS1. It has the standard LS1 PCV system. However the LS6 has a different PCV system. I was wondering what the nipple at the rear of the driver side valve cover is for. Is this a vent? Do I need to run a hose up to the front of the passenger side valve cover install a "tee" so the vent on the throttlebody, and both valve covers are connected?
