PRC heads ballpark $1300
Install-depends on who does it you can safely assume $2000 before everything is said and done give or take. Also depends on what heads some will cost you well over $2000 alone. TSP PRC's FTW

If you rate your mechanical skills at atleast a 7 out of 10 I would say go for the install yourself. If you have all the tools its a great experience. There are a couple good sites that will show you step by step how to swap heads/cam. http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=3 is one I followed years ago and it was dead on!

If you got the tools it's a blast installing heads, pretty straight forward too. Yes, ls1howto is an awesome reference, you can't go wrong if you follow the instructions.

TSP PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads with the PRC Dual springs cost me $1,326 shipped to my door.
Normally around me shops charge around $1,000 to just change head gaskets, so I figure around $1,000-$1,500 would be the price range to just install heads. Installing a cam you would probably add another $400-$600 depending on the shop (if not more).

While many will jump in here and say "hey just look at ls1howto and do it yourself" I recommend knowing your boundaries. If you have little to no mechanical experience, you do not need to attempt doing a heads/cam install by yourself. Further more, ls1howto is somewhat dated, and there's a few key steps in putting an engine together correctly that it lacks.
I probably fix 10-15 cars a year because of that website alone.
