how far to mill 317....

Default how far to mill 317....

How far do you have to mill 317 to get the same cc's as stock 99 ls1 heads?

mill to 66cc. but im not sure how much is safe to mill off of the 317

Do your homework....... make sure your cam will work with those shaved heads.
That will require a removal of 0.040+, which has been done, but that is alot of material. Have you thought about 243's?

Sell them and get #243s or #799s. Its what your trying to do and you think its cheaper. Your only short changing yourself, when you mill that much you misalign the intake bolts. So the machine shop also should mill the intake port face to match it back up if you mill that far.

So sell your #317s, add the $80 you were going to pay to have the #317s milled and you should be within $100 of the being able to buy some #243s/#799s.

Sounds like they are still for sale then. I'll probably keep my stock heads until I go more radical. Thanks for the help.
