if its just a tiny bit of surface rust on something I just use wd40 (or something of the like) and a paper towel or something like that.

If its more than that I would be kind of scared of the cam.

I've used some 200 grit emery cloth to clean light rust on crank shaft journals before with no problems.

Those lobes look fine, I would just use it. I've had to do that before too. everything turned out fine.

Shoulda left the rust on, you would've got a little bit more lift LOL

Just wanted to let you know...WD40 has been known to be a rust promoter...Not preventer.

WD (water displacement) - rust caused from moisture. . . If you don't like WD40, use oil.

800 grit is pretty fine, long as u didnt just sit there for hours scrubing you should be fine.

and lol @ someone saying wd40 causes rust. Only time Ive had **** rust with wd40 is after it sat there for days (in the rain). Plus the wd40 was to help get the rust off not to keep it from coming back, oil would be better served with such a purpose.
