Default Cam recommendation for LS6 w/ TFS 215 heads?

Hey guys-

So I finally decided to do an NA build on my Z06. I've done my research and decided that I am going to go with the Trick Flow GenX 215 heads, especially since I already have roller rockers.

I would really like some help choosing a cam. I've done a lot of reading and there are just simply way too many cam options out there.

-I already have Kooks 1 3/4 long tubes
-The car DOES NOT need to pass emissions
-The car is NOT my daily driver, however I would like it to have decent street manners, meaning I want to be able to drive it 1200 miles back home to Idaho if I want to

Pretty much I use my car for dicking around on the street (highway) and a trip to the 1/4 maybe 10-15 times a year.

I would have PatrickG prescribe a custom cam based on your exact needs/wants.

Those heads flow quite well bro, all the way to .625 lift. After that airflow is lopped off. At any rate my cam is probably a bit much for what you are looking for but it is a perfect match for the heads. However it is in a 402, and with the extra cubes, and Mike@Vengeance tune she idles, and drives like stock. That is until you hit the gas. The specs are 239/243 .623/.623 113+3 I believe the Vindicator is larger then my cam by a touch, and Vengeance Racing has stuck it in ls1's and ls2's with a lot of success.

My vote is to go for a custom cam that is matched to the flow of your heads and compliments your entire setup. BTW, I'd love to see what my cam would do in a 346. Just keep in mind, tuning will make or break your driving experience. If you try this cam I hope you have a good tuner.

On a side note, I have driven 1550 miles round trip with this cam and my 402 was able to get 27 mpg actual, not display.

SERB,

I would suggest our VRX5 camshaft. Pair the VRX5 with a set of TFS 215s and supporting bolt ons and you are looking at 460/420 minimal with very good street manners (with a proper tune)... This combo would also net excellent power under the curve.

We currently have 10% off all Comp products (including camshafts) and we are offering free milling and free shipping on TFS cylinder heads. If you are in the market now is an excellent time to buy.

Damn, that is a good deal... If I hadn't gotten a better deal on my H/C combo, I'd go this route.

My buddy has the same set up in his ZO6 and it has really good street manners except for that thing that sounds like its trying to crawl out his tail pipes.
