LS1 heads suck big time. You will not lose low end torque with these 5.3 heads and they are only $1100.00 for the pair its a no brainer!

No, just order the Texas Speed 5.3 heads and (do not use after market rocker arms) just do the trunion up-grade $130.00! 50 HP!

From what i have seen Ls6s are better..Have yet to see a race or a dyno session that would prove otherwise..And if you are after compression they can be milled as well..just my .o2

My car runs great for a TSP budget build. I bought the 5.3 heads, for 1100.00 you can't go wrong.

Better is subjective and application specific. I plan to use stg2.5 5.3s and a 228r or Torquer v.2 for my DD build. The 5.3s will bring your compression up a tad and aid in low end grunt more than LS6 heads.

The LS6's can be milled to achieve compression bump. the LS6 is a better flowing head stock. I have not seen flow sheets for these two side by side.

Between these two options I'd go for the Stage 2.5 LS6 heads. The only real advantage the 5.3L heads have is they are less expensive. The LS6's typically make a few more hp/ftlbs all the way from idle to redline over the 5.3's. Keep in mind the chamber on the 5.3's are CNC'd so they are about 63cc or so out of the box. The LS6's are not CNC'd chambers, and start at about 64cc. So the arguement for compression is basically out the window as well, since we mill any of our heads at no extra charge when you purchase them new!

Let me know if I can help

The PRC Stage 2.5 LS6 heads are pretty hard to beat for the money. In a ideal world where $$ wasn't a concern I'd run the PRC 227 aftermarket castings, but if we're on a budget the PRC Stage 2.5 LS6 heads are hard to beat!

Let us know if we can help & make sure you tell the guys what camshaft your running so we can mill the heads accordingly.

The LS6's came on a Z06 and the 5.3's came on a truck engine, no competition.

I am in the same boat.I would like one of these heads to go with my futral cam 228/588.
I am undecided as well. I hear so much good stuff about the 2.5 5.3 heads. But for some reason I still like the thought of LS6 heads....Cant beat the bang for buck though.
