Engine vacuum leak from the back of the motor (maybe rear main seal)
In my 1975 Corvette I have a 1999 Corvette LS1 with a unknown year Camaro oil pan, and a few years ago the motor started squeaking from a vaccum leak. The sound came from the rear of the motor so we thought it was the rear main seal making the squeak because of the vacuum on the crank case. So I pulled the PCV valve off without blocking off the the tube that connects to the top of the valve covers. Ever since the the squeak has been gone, but the car burns oil like no other now. Has anyone else encountered a problem with the rear main seal like this/how difficult is it to replace the seal? Or could it be from another part on the back of the motor?

rear main seal would not cause a vacuum leak, only oil leak. check the brake booster line that connects to the rear of the manifold and map sensor for vacuum leaks.
