Default Why is my engine ticking

My engine started ticking when I fucked up a shift.

I took off the valve covers and everything looks fine. No cracked springs, rocker bearings are fine, nothing is loose.

Should the next thing I look for are bent push rods?

Or am I just poking around in the wrong area right now?

I don't think it's a knocking sound, so Im looking around at top end wise.

Yeah I'd pull the push rods and check them and go from there. While you have them out you can thoroughly inspect your rockers to make sure you didnt knock any needle bearings out also.

Check the pushrods!

It could also be an exhaust leak but if you over revved motor and it just started ticking I would lean towards a bent pushrod
