Default Cam Questions!!!!

In your experiences what cam has worked the best with stock 241 heads or 243 heads. I'm trying to determine what cam I should get.

IMO the 228 is a good all around cam for the 243 heads. If your running a 241 head you would want alittle more on the exhaust side (about 4*s) like a 224/228 or 228/232 split to make up for the exhaust side of the 241s

Depends on what you are wanting out of the car. There are several ways you can go depending on what you your goals for the car.

I'm wanting to make around 400whp and keep streetablity. It will be driven at the track, but mostly on the street (not DD). I kind of want it to be a sleeper!!!

Ah yes, the good ole what is the best cam question again!!! Do a search for cam only results or installed cam. You will find plenty of people who asked the exact same question.

2 things you should do:
1-search the dyno section hear for numbers you like with good drivability reviews
and/or
2-call a sponsor and talk to them

i have a little ol' 224r but after i am done with my next series of mods i will be looking at 400rwhp...and thats being conservative. with stock 241's and ls1 intake it made 375 rwhp.

a mild cam is usually best for the street. then it becomes about making your set up as efficient as possible. ie intake, exhaust, head work, relentless tunning etc.

400 rwhp is just a number...what you do with it is a whole different story.

228/232 sounds good for the durations and on a 114 LSA for the sleeper and drivability qualities.

I believe a custom grind is in order

A custom grind should always be in order if you ask me. No 2 cars are really the same even though they have identical parts from the factory. A 224 in one car could yield completely different results in another. Be it good or bad.
