Default Sponsors help me with my cam selection

Im trying to find a cam that will get me in the 400hp range with good torque as well. the car is 99% a street car it only sees the track a couple of times a year. I would like it have good street maners as well and have a good sound nothing to radical. I have been reading different threads but still can't come up with a choice so any advice would be great. Its an 2000 M6 current mods are:
UD pulley
hooker headers
3inch tsp ory
hooker cat back
mti lid
3.73 gears
3inch cutout

I'm not a sponsor or even a pro, but I'll make a recomendation.
I take it your running the stock heads so I'll say around a 228/232 split duration, .595-.600 lift on a 112-113 lsa and mill about .040" off the heads to bump your compression up some if your pulling them.

You will also want to upgrade to hardened pushrods, ported oil pump and tming set.

Hope this helps!

Make sure you get new springs and check your PTVC if you mill the heads. You can get some pretty good gains from raising the compression. Just be careful not to go to high. .040 may be a bit much, especially for PTVC. Try to come in around 10:8:1. This worked really well for me on my last car.

Good Luck.

well i have the stock 853's on it right now and i planned on getting some 243's and getting them ported maybe. would it be worth keeping the stock heads or are the 243's a better match for a bump in power?

853s and 241s are about the same heads and I went 0.040" on my 241s.

Thanks for adding springs to the list...they are a must for any cam swap.

Every full point you raise the compression (going from 10:1 to 11:1) will give you a 3-4% boost in torque and hp...plus small bump in mpg
