Default rod length 402?

Every build I see for an lq4 402 stroker uses the stroker crank with 4.0 stroke, and I know u got to get different length rods, but all I'm seeing is putting in a longer rod with a shorter piston. My question is if I can keep my stock pistons and just get the new crank and rods? And if so does anyone know what length rod would I need? Need help

That won't work, LS1,2,6 LQ9 etc. are all 1.340" CH piston

Even if you cut down the top of the pistons it would still be a train wreck,
I'd like to escape the thought of using a stock piston in 402.

You could use a 6.200" rod in a 408, wouldn't recommend it, 6.125" is far more common.

So there isn't a shorter rod that I could use? I have to get new crank, rods, and pistons in order to get my engine together?

With a shorter rod the stock pistons will hit the crankshaft at BDC as well even if it works on paper.
