Default Wtf are my heads!

Hey guys,

I have a set of 862 5.3 heads in my WS6.. The thing that's killing me is that I don't know the brand, stage, or who worked on them.

On the passenger side head, facing the front of the motor, it has a work order number.. " 13182 "

I called patriot performance, they said no results were found with that work order number. The guy on the phone said they had to be Stage II heads, otherwise anything bigger and the pistons would hit the valves.

It's killing me not knowing what was done to them when they were worked on though.. Any other ideas?

I would say that most machine shops would stamp how much material was taken off of them somewhere on the head. 0.003-0.010 Somewhere in there I would believe for a cleanup. Unless they were milled for CR.

I still dont know why he would think they were stage II heads. Usually stages are refering to the valves. Unless they are off the car and measured he wouldnt be able to tell you over the phone. I am also under the impression that there is a photo attached to this thread that I can't see because photobucket is blocked at work for me.

Check with TSP.

Also, I am going to move this to the internal section.
