Default Cam questions

Alright so I just pulled my cam out and it turns out it's chipped. It's a 218 220 552 552 112 comp cam. Now I'm curious as to how big of a cam I can go on the stock tune because I'm on a budget. Also is there any stock cams put of other cars that will create more power then I currently have?

The cam you have should have been tuned as well for max power.

What he's saying, is if you're running well w/the cam, stick with it. If you're running crap w/the cam, stop being cheap, save up and get it tuned. If you go larger w/your new cam than the one you removed, you'll run like crap (if you don't get a retune).

Well the car is tuned for that cam and runs beautifuly. But I can't go bigger at all with out a tune? And is there any cars like an 08 vette or such that I could pull a cam from and create more hp then my current one?

more power means more air. more air means different results from your MAF assuming you're not speed density tuned. differing results from your MAF means TUNE.

Save your money, get a good/better cam than what you think you have and a tune. Budget and more power don't go well together.
