Default 230 reverse split vs el torro

well im installing a cam in a couple of months.. and i was pretty sold to this tr320 reverse split cam.. until i read about el torro cam....this cam seems to be a little bigger than 230 and to carry a better power band under the curve.. but i cant find much info about this... any info and thoughts???
im looking for a nice torque and i dont want to wish i had gonne bigger...

car is driven almost every day 3-4 days a week and sees track once a month probably... just looking to build a nice street car

mods are
lt headers
borla exhaust cutout
ls7 clutch
and ill be installing stoch 243 heds too

search button is your friend (wow i sound like the typical tech *******) honestly predatorZ has a whole thread dedicated to reverse split cams and a guy in the 1/4 section is almost mid 10 with the el torro cam i think, but he has other modfications also.

Reverse splits don't carry well at high rpm. Exhaust can't be cleared out. The incoming intake charge is contaminated and power goes down.

not many people have em is why. from my understanding traditional split cams peak later than reverse split cams and some people are all about dyno numbers. you have to have best free flowing exhaust for this cam ie: lt's no cats with 3" true duals you want better exhaust than intake. of course some of the numbers i've seen with AFR heads and a FAST and these reverse splits open up. hopefully predatorZ will chime in on here for ya! especially since the el torro is his design lol

do a search on my name I have a couple threads out there on the el torro...dynos, track times, idle clips...etc...

go with the bigger 230/230 over the tr230...just my opinion though

Either one will get you where you want to go, I like the TR230 myself. Good luck,

Not all men are created equal and neither are cams. Your statement is pure garbage.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-do-heads.html

First cam only and then add Cartek 4X heads stock valves.

We've already hashed this out several times. I'm not getting into why you are wrong yet again. You have all your fans here to jump to your side, but on other forums you were exposed. Maybe if your reverse splits carry so well, you could have another explanation to why Chris's car more or less fell on it's face on the back end of the quarter mile compared to other cam only cars?

Look at what EPS is doing. Finally someone is getting these cams right.

Since when do you 60ft on the back end?

Bottom line his mph split from half track to the finish line was on the weak side.

And what's "fuggin drunk" is asking 200 bucks for a little sheet metal and some pop rivets.

My buddy had the El Torro cam in his stock bottom end 346 last year with 5.3 heads and that car was wild, lots of power everywhere.
