Might as well add the LS2 timing chain since you'll be pulling the oil pump of anyway. Cheap insurance for 40 bucks.

Hold off on the pushrods until you measure for them.

Ehh, normally I would agree with this statement, but since he has stock heads/stock gasket thickness, then he should be good with 7.425 length. (The smaller base circle of aftermarket cam lobes require a bit longer pushrod than stock).

My tuner/installer recommended a Melling high volume oil pump instead of a ported LS6, he said the price is about the same and the melling is a little better unit. Just a suggestion.

Heres a thought. I know you are saying TR230, but I know its not this one: 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA.

I would highly consider looking at that cam as well. (Also a TR230, just the reverse split.) Doesnt look like you are running heads and it is a great cam for some under the curve tq. You have the free flowing exhaust that would compliment it nicely as well.

Yeah I know. I am on the prowl for people to start running the Reverse cams!

+1 on the melling oil pump. Before the swap I had good oil pressure (over 40 at idle). The melling pump comes with a high pressure spring already installed and another spring that's for stock pressure. I swapped out springs and ran the stock pressure spring. My pressure picked up maybe like 5 psi with the melling pump, but it would have been scary high with the high pressure spring. Just something to think about.

Hell yes. Luckily, there is an autozone by my house that is actually open 24/7, and after messing with that oil pump pickup tube bolt for 30 min, I drove there at 3am, bought a 10mm gear wrench and had the bolt threaded in 5 minutes.

Flex-head gear wrenches if you can find a good deal. It's crazy how handy those are to have.
