whats the hastle of the double, use the spacers and its fine. plus you can pick up a double for 80 bucks, its a win-win situation

I thought you have to pull the crank gear and install a spacer and that it was a pain the the a$$ to get the oilpump pickup tube back on with everything moved foward?

a double is the way to go.if you're gonna go to the trouble of tearing it down that far might as well do it right.yes you have to pull the crank gear off because you will be putting one on to fit the double and thats no harder then getting the balancer off i thought. the spacers for the pump are kinda thin so its not any harder putting that oil pickup tube bolt in then it would be with a single chain on IMO.

I'm happy with my JWIS, but if I did it over I'd go with the Rollmaster double.

I grabbed the Iwis Ketten chain. If it's good enough to be in the C5-R's 427 and turn 7,000+ rpm, it's good enough for me!

The Rollmaster timing sets are the ones we build all of our engines with. They are excellent quality and are very hard to beat for the price! You can buy a double-roller non-heat-treated set for $74.99 or a heat-treated adjustable with the Torrington bearing for $93.99. The single-roller Rollmasters are currently on back-order, but we have some double-rollers ready to ship.

Let us know if you have any questions.

JWIS or Rollmaster single timing chain

You don't have to worry about which chain is better... Why? ... Rollmaster don't make any chain.

If you purchase a "Red Label Premium" Rollmaster Timing Set, the timing gears will be made by Rollmaster in Australia, and the chain will be a JWIS chain, made by Iwis Ketten in Germany. If you buy the cheaper "Blue Label Economy" Rollmaster Timing Set, the gears will also be the Rollmaster gears, but the chain will be the cheaper Rolon chain made in India.

Tin Indian said what I was going to. I run a single rollmaster on my vette because I didn't want to machine my pulley.

All Blue label sets are 3 key way. The Reds are 9 but may not have IWIS chain. The new silvers will all be IWIS.

Well, I have / had a non-adjustable single Rollmaster Timing Set (single keyway) that came with a JWIS chain. Ordered it from KB Engines in Australia for around $68 delivered.

Rollmaster gears and JWIS chain.

Yeah thats about Right $68 US that is $97 to them in Ausy. According to the catalog that is a CS1130 but does not come with IWIS so I would say you got some of the "old new stock" so you got lucky.

My single rollmaster that I bought from Trevor (Texas Speed) has the good chain. Just like Tin Indian
