ms3 cam vs 228/236 w/ tfs 220cc
So all my current mods and numbers are in my sig. Now my buddy has a ms3 cam for is camaro brand new and he just decided to go a different route with his car so he is willing to sell it me dirt cheap. Im just wondering how you guys think it would preform with my car now. I was hoping for a little more hp from my set up now but my tuner said his dyno (mustang) usually is lower then most. The car preforms and drives great now i ran 11.94 with street tires and a 3000 stall but if i can get more power/performance from a cheap cam swap im down. Oh and i will be swaping to a built trans/3800 in the next month or so and adding tires.

TF 220s are way better than TSP 2.5 LS6s. Ive had two sets of 2.5 LS6s and a set of TF 220s. The TFs runners are a little rough cause being as cast. But the bowl area is way better. Plus a smaller runner volume is better for a smaller engine. TF recommends a roller rocker setup as opposed to the stock ones.

I have a cam similar to your current cam (228/236) in the car in my sig. I run an old SY3500 converter, flashes around 4300-4400 RPM. It is 3700lbs and change at race weight, and has AFR 205's.
I am partial to smaller cams, but people have used the MS3 & 4 cams with good results. It's your call, I personally wouldn't change the cam. As noted, you need a better converter, and some traction.
