Need help with Rockers
I’m trying to find a good set of rockers that aren’t expensive. I was told I could get about 15hp from putting a set on?? I keep looking but they all seem to be pretty pricey. Anyone know of a set that are good priced? I was told Scorpion LS Race Series Rocker Arms?? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks Yall

Are you looking at lifters or rockers? Typically, unless you have a defective lifter in your current combo a new set isn't going to increase power. Some go with a higher ratio rocker arm on a stock camshaft setup to increase valve lift a bit and that is usually worth a few HP though.

The only way you'll really gain 15 hp with rockers is if you go to a different ratio. It's been pointed out many times that the stock rockers are lighter than most aftermarket rockers. You want to keep the valvetrain as light as possible.
As for the Scorpions, there also have been some very bad experiences posted here. Some really serious failures resulting in a lot of damage.

Oh wow ok well glad i checked into them first. i'm not sure what my engine comes with stock but most sites sell either 1.7 or 1.8. should i go with 1.8? or is there a better ratio?

Rockers really do not make HP and raising your "lift" with rockers is not safe. You need to really look at what it is you want, if you want a higher lift get cam with a bigger lift opr do intake or exhaust but getting rockers with a higher ratio you are leaving yourself open to early valve train failure. 99% of off the shelf cams are made to run with a 1.7 ratio and stock heads are made to run with a 1.7 ratio.
The other aspect you might want to look at is that your valve train is THE most important part to your combo and engine, skimping on that you are taking chances again do some research but you are going about attaining HP the wrong way.

help
well today i changed my oil and found some needle bearings on my plug magnet, i'm shocked cause it only has 65,000 miles on it, and yes change my oil regularly, called around nd was told it happens now and then with factory rockers, i'm assuming that what it is, haven't pulled the covers yet. So whats a good replacement, looked around on web and have found tons of options. and now i'm totally confused. i don't think i want the stock ones, seen some gold crane rockers but i think they went out of biz for a while....recomendations?? 98 ws6

LOL yep thats it! luckily i just took the car out of the garage and plated it yesterday so i warmed it up and changed the oil. it sits everywinter, i really need to start it more in the winter, i think maybe it gets real oil dry up there and may have contribitued but then again, since i asked around this happens alot, if i new about it sooner i probably would have already done it. gonna count how many are in a full bearing when i pull them, i hope i can account for all of them. otherwise not sure if i need to pull oil pan/pump and look for more. not sure if they would all fall down safely, maybe there is some still on the head. what did you do?
