That's a reverse split cam, normally used to makeup for the short fall of the Ls1 intake...but I'd look for a set of ported/ milled 243s since the exhaust duration is shorter than the intake

That intake duration is fairly large, so be thinking about possible PTV issues if you decide to mill the heads and/or run a thinner gasket.

With the shorter exhaust duration you will want a very free flowing exhaust and exhaust side of the head.

Why did you pick this cam? Just curious.

No its not a bad cam, just different than what I'm used to seeing. Lol maybe he put it in there because he got a great deal on it.
Since you have the cam in there I'd leave it and go ahead and focus on the bolt ons and suspension, then run the car and see how YOU like it... Then if you still have the "need more power bug" do a heads cam swap.
This is just my opinion lol

Could he not just throw a set of stock 243s on? Just wondering if that would be an option in the opinion of you guys that know? Do they flow substantially better than the 241s, or would it not be worth it?

Headers with a nice Y merge and a free flowing catback are needed with any cam.

Yes oddwraith 243's are a nice budget upgrade over 241's and flow about 30cfm better on the intake at .600 lift. A good valve job and bowl blend and I have seen 243's go 280cfm which is pretty good bang for the buck...
