60k are the lifters still good ?
I was wondering if my stock lifters would still be ok with a new cam swap. I really dont have the funds to do the heads right now and I dont want to pull them if I dont have to. The car is 01 formula m6 with about 60,000 miles on it . Mobile 1 motor from the get go and it has been pretty well taken care of. I am thinking about the 228R or more likely the Torquer 2 from Texas speed . I have all the bolt on mods: hooker Lts , off road y pipe , cat back exhaust , Ls6 intake , ported tb, slp lid , ram air, stage 2 star clutch , sub frame connectors ect... trying to put 400 hp to the wheels . Thanks for any info.

As long as you don't have any pre-existing ticking, you should be fine. Very few people swap lifters during a cam-only upgrade. Bare minimum, get new valvesprings and hardened pushrods, and if budget permits, an ls2 timing chain and ls6 oil pump (the pump is really only needed if you have a pre 01 F-body).

No ticking engine is quiet as can be , Thank you for the reply . I will be changing out the springs , pushrods , oil pump and timing chain also (probably should have said that). Do you think 400hp is too high of a goal with those cam choices and my mods? Once again thanks.

With a 228r cam you should be right around 400rwhp give or take a few hp.
