Default Question about 806 heads??

hey guys im looking at buying a 1999 trans am but i have a question??? the car has an older tsp cam its like a 595/598 lift, lt headers, full exhaust, and an ls6 intake. ok i got in contact with the original owner who had tsp do the work he said they did a heads and cam package the dyno sheet was around 415 hp and 385 tq through a 12 bolt with 4.11's! now i looked at the heads and the casting number is 806? do they even sell ported 806's??? and aint they only on 97-98 ls1's with the different valve covers??? so why would they be on a 1999????

Are they perimeter bolt valve covers? Cause they should be. They were probably bought and ported. Just as good as a ported 243 except for the absence of the hollow sodium filled valves. 806 was just the old stock casting number. You wouldnt get that number with an older grind cam only with stock 806's. I dont think you have anything to worry about.
