ok combo questions? about LQ4
im planning on stuffing an Lq4 in my 240sx im saving my pennys to start this project but wen it comes ill post it here and on nicoclub....anyways ok i wanna know what year LQ4 mates to a t-56 and if an MTi X1 cam would be ok i heard them on a whole bunch of LS6s but never on an LQ4........... some of you might ask why an LQ4? well same reason why people go LM7 (cheaper), i kinda wanna build a freeway worrior/drift car thats fast but my goal is around 350-380WHP i read in this book i got says LQ4 blocks only weigh 88lbs over a fully loaded LS1? but yea what else do i gotta do to this LQ4 when i do buy it to make it do what i wanna accomplish?

well I guess i'll throw something out here for you.
firts if you want to make decent power you need more compression. second if you are doing this on a shoestring budget(hard to do on a swap) then ditch the truck intake for a Z06, keep the 317's but mill them down .030 for a little bump in comp and go with a 224 cam. youll hit 340rwhp.
Now if you want serious ponies......... then look at a set of PnP 243's milled down to 62cc, Fast 90/90 with a nice thumper of a cam in there and you'll get your cookies quick.

check my sig, get a custom cam from one of the gurus around here. pat g, predatorz and the like. the prc heads arent that expensive in the long run. sell the heads that come on the lq4 and upgrade. as far as fuel injection you'll have to ask someone else as i'm still in the stone age.

The 5.3 will save some weight, but the LQ4 has much more power potiential. Since its a drift car you might actually be better off with the 5.3 for balance and weight transfer. But I still like the LQ4 better. Just my $.02.
